JESUS IS ALL

via: http://www.relevantrevolution.com/video/true-better-timothy-keller

"Jesus is the true and better Adam who passed the test in the garden and whose obedience is imputed to us.

Jesus is the true and better Abel who, though innocently slain, has blood now that cries out, not for our condemnation, but for acquittal.
...

Jesus is the true and better Abraham who answered the call of God to leave all the comfortable and familiar and go out into the void not knowing wither he went to create a new people of God.

Jesus is the true and better Isaac who was not just offered up by his father on the mount but was truly sacrificed for us. And when God said to Abraham, “Now I know you love me because you did not withhold your son, your only son whom you love from me,” now we can look at God taking his son up the mountain and sacrificing him and say, “Now we know that you love us because you did not withhold your son, your only son, whom you love from us.”

Jesus is the true and better Jacob who wrestled and took the blow of justice we deserved, so we, like Jacob, only receive the wounds of grace to wake us up and discipline us.

Jesus is the true and better Joseph who, at the right hand of the king, forgives those who betrayed and sold him and uses his new power to save them.

Jesus is the true and better Moses who stands in the gap between the people and the Lord and who mediates a new covenant.

Jesus is the true and better Rock of Moses who, struck with the rod of God’s justice, now gives us water in the desert.

Jesus is the true and better Job, the truly innocent sufferer, who then intercedes for and saves his stupid friends.

Jesus is the true and better David whose victory becomes his people’s victory, though they never lifted a stone to accomplish it themselves.

Jesus is the true and better Esther who didn’t just risk leaving an earthly palace but lost the ultimate and heavenly one, who didn’t just risk his life, but gave his life to save his people.

Jesus is the true and better Jonah who was cast out into the storm so that we could be brought in.

Jesus is the real Rock of Moses, the real Passover Lamb, innocent, perfect, helpless, slain so the angel of death will pass over us. He’s the true temple, the true prophet, the true priest, the true king, the true sacrifice, the true lamb, the true light, the true bread.

The Bible’s really not about you—it’s about him.

Poor TSCF convention

Source:
The National, Friday 27th 2012
THE highlands regional Tertiary Students Christian Fellowship (TSCF) convention held in Minj, Jiwaka, over the Easter weekend was an eye-opener.
I observed several annoying and frustrating things:
l    The service programmes and sessions were not properly conducted;
l    There was no time management as breaks were too short and sessions ran past meal breaks;
l    The attention span of the participants aged between 15 and 30 were not considered, as they needed a more relaxed schedule;
l    Some of the speakers during night worship services spoke with no order or logical structure in their sermons. One even rambled for more than two hours;
l    Some preachers merely preached about themselves, instead of focusing on God; and
l    A few speakers even made bad remarks about different denominations, putting one down while promoting another.
The focus of TSCF should not be to promote a particular denomination or a certain style of worship.
We should be mindful that we all come from different backgrounds, have different personalities, traditions, beliefs and practices.
We should all be encouraged to worship God in ways we are comfortable with, instead of being driven by emotions.
For those who desire to be a preacher, I suggest you enroll in a theological college to study biblical interpretations and properly and homiletically skilled.
As the Bible says: "Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth."
The pulpit is not for just anybody, but it is a sacred place preserved only for those who can handle the work correctly and should be left to professionally trained ministers.
What we present to people shows who we are.
So, in future conventions, please show professionalism and your students will learn from your examples.

Praise and Worship

Young David's musical talent was recognized and recommended as the only musician who could play at the royal palace. The change of environment did not deter him. In fact he has greater challenges. The resident demonic spirits which were tormenting the king fled at the sound of his worship and not only that one day while he was still praising God king Saul, a accomplished soldier himself tried to pinned him to the wall of his courts with his javelin. On two different occasions the javelin failed to touch David. If David had deviated from his devoted lifestyle of praising God what would have happened? Firstly, he would also be tormented by the demonic spirits and secondly, he would have been killed by the king. His praise and worship drew the presence and anointing of God which not only protected the king but also his very own life. This is a live that every Bible believing Christians should be living. It is a beautiful life that has great benefit.
David has a personal devotion with his God with his beautiful harp. Dr. Adeboya a great man of God from Nigeria mentioned that worshipping God makes Him rise above everything. There was a wedding ceremony whereby the bridegroom fell dead and the congregation prayed for the groom for several minutes and still he was lying on the floor. The pastor ordered that they begin to praise God and raise him high. Whilst they were lifting up their voices the dead groom began to move his hands and rose up from the floor. God is raised up by the praises of His people. In every circumstance praise Him.

 The converts went back to various villages after the 14 days of feasting of the Word of God. They had a major impact to the districts social development. The district administration was really honored and had high regards for the organizing committee for staging a life impacting event. This really impacted and affected the people of the district. The administrator further invited the JKM ministry to come back again if there is such event held again. The young people gave positive testimonies about how the event has brought them and shown them the Light and Way to the kingdom of God. The foundation of the Satan his fallen angels were shaken during the 14 days. Many witchcraft practiceners, sorcers, false preachers and gave their lives to Christ and receive Him as their personal Savior and Lord. Many charms, chants, incarntation were forshaken.
